'Call For News/Submissions For New 'Serious Games' Content Site'

As a result, they are looking for both news and feature submissions for the site, which will launch in the near future. If you have news, including press releases, information on newly launched serious games, or opportunities for interviews with figures in the industry, please send them to news@seriousgamessource.com.In addition, if you work in or are familar with the serious game industry and can provide business-related articles, game 'postmortems', Soapbox-es, technical articles, or other pieces, in exchange for a small 'honorarium', please email editors@seriousgamessource.com, detailing the article you would like to write for the site.

Serious Games Showcase and Challenge

The First Annual Serious Games Showcase and Challenge will occur at this year’s I/ITSEC Conference held in Orlando, Fl December 4-7, 2006. Student and very small business based Serious Games developers can use this as a venue to get their games in front of the huge crowd that attends each years I/ITSEC Conference. Last year over 16,000 people from over 40 countries were in attendance for the worlds’ largest simulation and training conference.

The overarching purpose of the Serious Games Showcase & Challenge is to identify innovative game based solutions to problems that could affect the Military both today and in the future. This means that the challenge is not only interested in the next first person shooter, but any game that solves issues within any area the military operates. Examples of militarily useful areas include: leadership, logistics, linguistics, maintenance, engineering, intelligence, reconnaissance, strategy, history, flying, ship handling, electronics, communications, acquisition, and business management, to name a few.
