MMO player growth for girls is erasing the myth that girls aren't avid gamers.

This year's ESA report cited that the largest growth demographic for game players was the remarkable number of women playing MMOs and downloadable casual games and the growth in publishing new games for girls.

The blog of Scientific American reported that a new BarbieGirls MMO in the first 60 days of its existence has signed up three million members, and they're adding new members at the rate of 50,000 per day. It took World of Warcraft four months to reach its first million members. This is the fastest growing virtual world ever.
